A bit about our program…

West End Village School is a year-round, full-day preschool program, opening daily for drop-off at 8:30am, and ending at 3:30pm. To allow for professional development and weekly staff meetings, Fridays are an early release day, with pick-up at 1pm. Monday-Thursdays we also offer an Afterschool Playgroup until 4:30pm (scroll down for details).

NEW! By popular request, we are now offering a 1/2 day option daily from 8:30-1pm! See pricing below.

Our program is currently designed for preschool aged children, 3-5 years old. Children are eligible to enroll around the month they turn 3 years old, however, most of our openings occur in either July, at the start of our summer session, or in September with the start of our school year.

ENROLLMENT OPTIONS & TUITION...
(prices listed for September 2024 and beyond)

Full Time Enrollment
Children attend school everyday, Monday through Friday.
Whole Day Tuition for the FT enrollment option is $1295 per month.
Half Day Tuition for the FT enrollment option is: $1000 per month

Part Time Enrollment Option 1
Children attend school 4 days per week.
Whole Day Tuition for this enrollment option is $1125 per month, $1100 when schedule includes Friday.
Half Day Tuition for this enrollment option is $850 per month

Part Time Enrollment Option 2
Children attend school 3 days per week.
Whole Day Tuition for this enrollment option is $900, $875 when schedule includes Friday.
Half Day Tuition for this enrollment option is $700 per month.

 

All enrollment options include healthy, school-provided snacks and lunch comprised of local produce, dairy and eggs, and fresh baked bread, pastries and entrees from our own Chef Dylan!

after-school Playgroup

During the school year, we offer a Monday through Thursday extended day option for Whole Day families needing late afternoon care. Our Playgroup is designed to offer children the opportunity to further explore their interests, engage in small-group play and dive deeper into their favorite activities. Playgroup is typically capped at 5 children per day and runs from 3:30-4:30pm with an afternoon snack provided. Regular attendance can be built into your tuition package, and we also offer a daily drop-in as space allows.

Pricing for Afterschool Playgroup Attendance
Add $185 to monthly tuition for all 4 days per week
Add $140 to monthly tuition for 3 days per week
Add $110 to monthly tuition for 2 days per week
$25 per daily drop-in, as needed.

How we do enrollment…

We have a rolling admissions process and invite new families to enroll with us as spots become available. Our regular enrollment season begins in mid-January when our current families receive their re-enrollment forms. Once we know who is returning for the following school year, and who is staying through summer, we will go down the waiting list and begin inviting folks to enroll with us until all spots are full. Occasionally, we will have mid-year openings and will invite families in off the waiting list to enroll with us as spots become available, but most enrollment invitations are for either a July or September start.

Enrollment invitations are sent out to families based on the spots we have available and the date waitlist fees were received. We practice inclusivity and so all families are welcome to join our waiting list and have a fair chance at joining our school community. We only ask that you visit our program before enrolling, to meet with our directors and ensure that our program is a good fit and can properly support your child in their educational journey.

At this time, tours are currently reserved for families on our waiting list, as enrollment invites are offered. We do not have the capacity to offer tours to folks prior to receiving an enrollment invitation, but are working to schedule opportunities to explore our classroom through twice yearly Open House events.

 
 

Getting On Our Wait List

All you need to do to get on our waiting list is fill out the brief inquiry form below, and submit a $50 non-refundable placeholder fee either via Venmo (Josephine-WestEndVillageSchool) or by mailing cash or check to West End Village School at 251 Danforth Street, Portland, ME 04102.

Your place on our waiting list will be confirmed via email upon receipt of BOTH your request form AND your placeholder fee.
