About The Studio

We’re reopening our studio doors!

Before the pandemic, the other side of 251 Danforth Street (which recently served as our school office) existed as a shared studio space where a handful of yoga and other wellness practitioners led classes and individual sessions for children and adults. When COVID came to town, we shifted gears and closed the studio to the public, hosting a learning pod group for a year before converting it into a much needed office for our school program. This summer we got the chance to expand our space into the back office of our building so we can reopen The Studio to our West End community once again!

Our vision for this iteration of The Studio is all about rebuilding the community connections that took a pause during the pandemic. Our section of Danforth Street is coming alive once again with some lovely new destinations, like our friends over at Zu Bakery, and the Ugly Duckling café across the street. We are thrilled to join this effort and share our cozy studio with you again with our growing line-up of fresh classes. We want to be your West End spot to make music, share stories, build community and create lasting memories together with your children.

We’re currently working on a schedule of exciting kid & family classes, parent & educator workshops, and community events for folks in every corner of the early childhood world and beyond. Classes will be designed and led both by our teaching team, and through collaborations with some of Greater Portland’s finest folks, including Music with Friends with Jesse Hale Moore!

Here’s a sneak peak of what you might find on our calendar this year:

  • Music with Friends! (Jesse’s toddler & family music playgroup)

  • Parent’s Night Out (Kid’s Night in the Studio)

  • Community Story Hour (we’re fundraising to make this a cost-free weekly offering!)

  • Mini Maker’s Market (featuring work by kid-focused local artists & makers)

  • Creative Play Classes (after school dance, art & makerspace, music, etc. for the PreK crowd)

  • Caregiver Workshops (some for fellow ECEs & some for Parents)

  • Caregiver Book Club & Discussion Group

  • Parent-Child Playgroups (a chance for parents of the youngest kiddos to connect)

  • Special Events & Workshops (for kids spanning all ages and interests)

And we’ve got more collaborations, pop-ups, and future classes in the works to roll out throughout the year. Check back soon for more info and class sign ups for September!
